If only life can be simpler

A: Eh eh… you know not? He and she together leh!! *wink wink*

B: Huh? Izzit?? Really meh?!?! Since when ar? *scratch head*

A: Aiya, I just found out also, C told me one.

B: Whoa… how C know?

A: Dunno leh, maybe D or E told C?

B: Oohhh…


Doesn’t this sound familiar? We gossip about the people around us, bitching about them behind their backs and stuffing our nose into people’s business. All these happen in school, because school is boring and gossip helps to kill time. Having something to talk about is better than having nothing to talk about.

There will always be new topics for gossiping everyday. As you know, our breaks are sometimes too short to do anything constructive; too long and we got bored. Thus, we get to understand and know the people around us better, through “underhand channel” by gossiping and bitching about them.

For the past few days, the 2 Ps, me and some other friends were gossiping about who is the transformer, who top the cohort last year, who is with who and stuff like that. (Too bad for ash, for missing this exciting episode since you skip school like nobody’s business.*evil laugh, slap you 3 times* haha!!)

Gossips are the root of sometimes imaginary rumors, landing some people under piles and piles of shit. Nobody seemed to believe that there can be pure friendship between 2 person from the opposite gender. When you are with a guy, suddenly people ask you if you 2 are an item. When a guy is nice to you, people ask if he is interested in you. When you are caught going out with a guy, people ask you, if you had already tongue-to-tongue with him. WTH?!?!

Just like recently, I received flowers and some of my friends interrogated me intensively. They never seemed to be interested in my other stuff except this BGR kind. Of course I am not angry, but I don’t think I owe them any explanation. I shall let them imagine all they want and once they got bored, all this will be over. =)

Alright, maybe I should not deny or eliminate completely the fact that there might be a certain degree of liking when we go out with people from the opposite gender. You see, we don’t even give a damn to those whom we don’t like, moreover go out with them. So, it prove that there is in fact some mild degree of liking. From there, sometimes there will be chemical reactions and love blossoms. Who knows?

For a child, there is only two extremist. Either like or don’t like. But as we grew older, we started to see intermediates. There will be love, like, don’t really like, neutral, dislike, loathe and hate. Our feeling towards a person can also be the same. So, why can’t we see things through this lense when we thought of BGR?? There may not be pure friendship between the male and female, but there might not necessary be love involved.

Gossips can be fatal. Will there be a day when all of us can just stop our mouth from gasping nonsense?? Anyway, this day may never come. So, why not spy around and see what other people are bitching about you?? Perhaps, you are better than you have thought!!

Alas… if only life can be simpler
