Being a lazy student, I used to study only the night before my paper, got all stressed up, lose my cool, and even lose my sleep. The next day, I float into the exam hall like a ghost. But things are very different now, I have the entire month dedicated to exam, all the time in the world to study and make sure I know every single detail. The best part is that, I don’t suffer from insomnia anymore!!! Yeah~
Anyway, have you heard about superstitious beliefs about examination?? Like you’re not supposed to eat chicken egg before your paper?? Or you should not cut your hair, nail or whatever before your paper?? Or you cannot tapao (take-away) food because you might end up tapao-ing that module?? Or you have a specific lucky shirt, pen or fengshui that helps to blind the examiner so that he gives you extra marks or something like that?? Or a lucky seat number that is neither 104 nor 444, which translates to mandarin conveniently means “sure die” or “die die die”??
Well, I believe in some of the above, not all. Not that I am superstitious or whatsoever, but I am just playing safe. Better safe than sorry you know. Like for instance, the part about not cutting hair and nails…. I am fine with not cutting my hair but its Nails that you are talking about!!! How can?? If my exam stretch for one month and I am not cutting my nails, I think they would soon be as long as my finger itself. Then I couldn’t even hold my pen properly and not to mention take the exam.
For the rest like seat number and venue, it’s not within my control but I remember I had the seat number 444 for one of my papers last semester. I thought that was a super bad omen but things did turn out just fine. So, I presumed scoring or not do not have a direct correlation with external factors like the above mentioned. The underlying statement is that as long as we study, recognize the question and avoid blank-outs during the paper, it can be difficult to fail.
How about bringing mobile phones into the exam hall?? Illegal?? Not anymore!!! Now, we can openly bring in our phones, not risking of getting caught or stolen, as long as we switch it off. Actually, I am very pleased about this new rule. The thieves will have nothing to steal and they can squat outside our exam hall, hoping that someone would accidentally leave their phones behind which I don’t think anyone would. Hahaha!!! I laugh at them, for being such downright losers…
Silence please, examination in progress.

Hornet Beeee
It wasn’t some cute little bumble bee flying into my room last night; it was a gigantic hornet bee!!! I hate being distracted, especially when I am fully engrossed in my challenging maths sum. Being the devil, I killed it. Mahahahaa.....
