Today is the last day of the third week of the third year of school, and I’m on the high mode right now!! And…. I bought a book, for the first time this year!!! Yeah~!! Well, it cost me approximately 4 hours and 10 minutes of my part- time pay, which is a lot for my current financial status. But I think the book needs me, so no choice.
After molesting my new book briefly, I concluded that my money is well spent. But, I find myself giving this excuse whenever I buy something new. So what’s new?? Nothing.
On our way home, jl and I had a brief conversation about money matters. He intended to bid 20 bucks for a soccer match, and it seemed like he views money lightly. That is my personal opinion because I had never gambled more than 5 cents for a game, simply because I am poor….
Friends advised me to take up a part-time job if I am really poor, and I know that many of them are already earning their own pocket money, like giving private tuitions. If you are wondering, I am definitely NOT filthy rich even though I don’t have to slog like a log.
Yes, I am stretching my hands out for money like a small girl. Isn’t it embarrassing??
To my parents, studying is my full-time job and the pocket money is my pay. That means I started working when I was 3!?! Ohh…my job is soo exciting huh….*yawn*
My parents do allow me to work during my holidays and that is the time I scrimp and save whenever possible. So, I don’t depend entirely on my parents, and don’t you look down on me!! I tell you ar… I paid FULLY for my driving license and 80% of my France trip. Those are my hard-earn money, and the hunger I had endured during school days. Each note is dripping with my blood, sweat and gastric acids ok??
Alright, I am also sort of “working” currently, but it is not really a job. I am just paid by doing research with my mentor. So, it is not considered working to be exact, so what is it actually?? Hmmm… sort of assistant, I guess.
Since tomorrow is Saturday, I have my activities all lined up. I will be going to watch the Symphonic Band concert that pj will be performing. Even though I know peanuts about music, and I might drift into dreamland soon after, I am sure the tickets are value for money. Sleep with live music, how wonderful!!!
Speaking about music, Nurul Maideen is eliminated from the Singapore Idol!!! WTH... I may be an idiot at music, but I can definitely differentiate music from noise!!
God is fair, Joakim Gomez is blessed with a good look but not with the voice, and I think it is really time for him to go. He might be the next Singapore Idol if this goes on, and since he is already in the top 5, I am willing to believe anything.
