My little cousin asked me – What is ok??
I wonder…..
We often associate it with agreeing, noted, a promise and approval. A universal language, so short and sweet; it brings its meaning across effectively. It has different definitions on various occasions.
When we are feeling unwell, people around ask – Are you ok?
When others want your opinion, they ask – Are you ok with this??
Ok – a term so common, yet so unappreciated. We hear it frequently, and at any point of time, somebody is using it. As it is so simple and ordinary, we took it for granted. We misused it, we altered its meaning. Day by day, it integrates itself into us and it no longer holds anything significant in our life.
Just like the people around us - our friends, our family, our lover. We are so use to having them that we don’t usually treasure their presence. It is like – too much of something, its value drops. How often have we ignore their presence and shove them away??
Ok – a term whose meaning is unwritten, so complex that within it, may lays a truth, a lie or even a secret untold. Whoever uses it bears the consequences. A promise you have made, a secret you choose to keep, is an ok in itself.
I only came to appreciate this term today, this very second. It is so shallow, yet explicit. So empty, yet profound.
What does ok means to you??
I guess I am just bored to write something like this… hahaha!!
