I was chatting with a friend the other day, which had recently graduated from elsewhere, majoring in Power Engineering, and could not find a job. Out of curiosity, I dug further and found out that his scope was closely related to EEE, just more specific and specialized.
For a moment, the word “power” reminds me of my childhood fantasy, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!!!

The Almighty!!!
Stop laughing at me for being naïve and ignorant!! It was indeed the first time I heard about power engineering, as the School of Power did not exist in my university. Imagine having the School of Power!!! So cool!!!
EEE is so un-glam… and it is pronounce as Eeeeeeeeee. No offends to those from EEE. =)

The new School of Power crest. It will definitely encourage kids to work harder to get into this cool school!!!
Anyway, like power rangers whom are so rare, it is no doubt that such jobs are hard to find. You see, in Singapore power lines are hidden in the ground, just like the job itself. So in order to look for that kind of job, he might have to dig right into the ground.
Well anyway, that’s none of my concern. But I was wondering if one day, when I landed in the similar situation like him, what will I do??
It is never too early to lay a backup plan. I was thinking that if I really couldn’t find a job, I will become a tuition teacher. It gives good money and the time is flexible. That would allow me to look for a job as I teach. Moreover, the demand is sky high and the pay is disgustingly fantastic. It will not only keep the money rolling in, but at the same time allow me to form network and ask the kid’s parents if jobs are available.
Instead of waiting for a correct job to come by, that would be a more active approach.
Setting up my own company might be another option, but the type of business is not decided yet. The next option might be look for a sugar daddy or a rich husband, but rich people are even harder to find than jobs, so that option is out.
Right, I may be good at dispensing advices now, but when it really do happen to me, I will still have to ask around for help.
Back to my childhood fantasy!! Power Rangers were my idols back in primary school. My brother and I would glue ourselves to the TV each Saturday at 11am to catch the half hour show. We would than fantasized ourselves as a figure and fight it out with my mummy – which was most probably the monster. But as I get older, those dreams and fantasies gradually fade into oblivion…. I want my inner child to come out play soon…I still keep the yellow ranger figurine, which is my favourite ranger!!!

I like this!!
Another week over, another week closer to exams… Power Rangers, come help me defeat all those demonic papers!!!

I've got the POWER!!!!
Here is a nice & touching maple video that a friend sent me.
Enjoy the weekend!!
