Finally I have some time to sit down on the sofa, munch on my chocolate bar and flip through some magazines. What a tiring week this is!!
I flipped through my brother’s Fortune magazines and was reading about “The Tragedy of General Motors” (February 27, 2006 issue) and “How Toyota does it” (March 13, 2006 issue). Anyway, I was not interested on whether GM might close down one day, or would Toyota soar higher in the future, since I do not have shares in any companies. But, I would say that those are pretty great articles, because they mentioned a lot about their internal management and organization. Since my management project was on that topic, I might as well read on it.
Anyway, I didn’t know that GM is actually so generous. Their employee’s benefits and welfare are so freaking good!! But, this is one of the reasons that landed them in heavy debts, according to the article. So, can I conclude that being kind to others is actually being cruel to yourself??
After reading, I was thinking – why is it so difficult to climb to the top, yet effortless to fall to the bottom?? Climbing up the stairs definitely requires more effort that jumping off a building right?
For instance, you can declare bankrupt by giving me all your money. But conversely, giving me all your money might not necessarily make me a millionaire. How ironic…
Where exactly is the top? How high up can we go?
30 years ago, graduating from secondary school was a BIG thing.
20 years ago, graduating from polytechnic was a BIGGER thing.
10 years ago, graduating from university was a SUPERIOR thing.
Now, graduating from university is just NOTHING.
How much higher can we go?? Even buildings have limit. What is the point of going higher when our foundation cannot sustain that weight? The tall building will eventually collapse. Moreover, we need oxygen to survive at the top, else we die.
Now, how low can we fall?
I believe it is not a bottomless pit. There is a certain lower limit and not negative infinity, because that’s too cruel. Perhaps no one even bothered to measure how low you have fallen.
The only time we reach the top is when we die, we go up to heaven. Yes, high high up in the sky!!! Unless you are some loser, bitch or bastard in your life, you will go right down to the bottom – Hell!!

Can anyone answer this question??
Why do dogs lift up one leg when they pee?
