Ok, as you can see, I was caught… Wahahaha!!!

Perhaps you are laughing at me for cheating the school. It is alright, just continue laughing. I always have reasons for doing anything, including this. Let’s see if I can convince you to do the same after reading this. =)

In my school’s computer lab, it costs 5 cents per page for printing. Let’s do some analysis.

1 page = 5 cents = 1 piece of paper
2 pages = 10 cents = 1 piece of paper (duplex printing)
2 pages = 10 cents = 2 pieces of paper (single sided)

If you love the environment like me, you will choose duplex printing. But for charges wise, it will be advisable to choose single sided. Reason being, it cost less and you get more. The other side of the paper can still be used as rough paper anyway.

I think it is sort of “unfair” towards my pocket for charging by per page basis, because it costs more that way. As you can see, it is expensive to conserve the environment. The school is not promoting a greener environment by encouraging single sided printing, since it is more “worth it”.

So yesterday, I decided to cheat on the school again. Take note, I said again!! I have been under-paying for my notes ever since I found this loophole. Though, it is unfair to the school because they have to pay for the ink, but human beings are selfish. We would rather be in the gaining position than at the losing end and that is why I got shot with the emails.

Whatever it is, I still think that the school is overcharging, as 5 cents per page is daylight robbery!! As a poor student, every cent counts. 5 cents per page is ridiculous when my notes are ludicrously thick. Like this!!!

This is just one module.... How many rims of papers do I need if I were to print at home??

When we owe the school some money, they came running after us with a knife. Conversely, when we pay more than the stipulated amount, the school kept it to themselves. I have a bill to back me up on this statement.

Look closely, this is my last semester’s school bill, and where was I??

Last semester, I was doing my industrial attachment, drawing a meagre salary. That means I was away and not even flushing their toilet bowls. Even though that was the case, didn’t the school deduct money from my dad’s CPF and GIRO account?? IA students are not rich, because we forked out the salary from our dad’s pocket. Simply speaking, our dad paid us. That sounds stupid, doesn’t it?

And that’s not the end yet. We also paid for the services and facilities we did not utilize. For instance, the shuttle bus services and, health services, student union, and so on and so forth. But now, my school is after me for that few dollars which I am desperately trying to save up to pay for the thousands they were getting from my dad.

I am not trying to defend myself, but it is just preposterous to be squeezing their students dry this way.

The school is rich, no doubt about that. I guess if they convert their assets into cash, they could easily spread it across the entire campus, up all the walls, covering every inch of it.

And lastly, my school is like a materialistic woman. She loves to buy branded stuff and dress up to show off to other people. The newly erected LCD screen at the entrance of the campus is one example. Though it makes the school look more digitally advance, I think it is a waste of money. We were doing just as fine without it.
