The Best of Tatty Cow

Last weekend, I was down at the IT fair and the latest addition to my tech savvy collection is a new Sony T70 camera. With its smile shutter and face detection features, I was having the time of my life capturing beautiful smiles of my mum. However, my mum said I had lousy photo-taking skills and good cameras won’t make my photos any prettier. =(

Are you sure, mum???

No matter how lousy my skill is, I believed there will be beautiful photos I had taken. So, I decided to go through all the photos I took for the past few years. Sadly, I have never taken many photos except when I went overseas.

Like how most singers compiled the best songs into one album and sell to the consumers, I decided to be a copy cat and compile the best from Tattycow into one folder. To my horror, only 20 photos made it into this folder!!! I mean 20 out of 2000+++ photos!!

Most of the photos I have taken are either in poor lightning, blurred images or wrong angle. Beautiful things suddenly become very ugly in my camera. =(

I will select the few better ones and here are “The best of Tattycow”:

This picture was taken on a Monday morning from Taronga zoo in Sydney, and it captures how the city awakens from the weekend.

The sunset of Sydney Harbour Bridge, taken on the cruise. The colours of the sky are simply amazing. I particularly love this image because everything seemed so calm and peaceful while the sun sets in the horizon.

The 12 apostles along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria state. The sun sets earlier during my visit, and the angle of the sun made it very difficult to capture pictures with sufficient brightness. But I still made it without flash!!

This is Ataturk Mausoleum, the final resting place of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, also known as the ‘Father of Modern Turkey’. It is taken just before the museum closes for the day. I was the last to leave, that’s why nobody is in my picture. =)

This picture is taken in Istanbul, where my bus stopped for a short break. It is only about 5pm but the colours of the sky are already so gorgeous.

This is the Ancient City of Hierapolis, also known as cotton castle to the Turkish. It is actually limestone if I had not remembered wrongly, and the formation of the terrace is natural!! I like how the sky and white cotton merge in this picture.

France is a completely different culture, and people are everywhere. It is almost impossible to take photo without people in the town center of Troyes. It is not my photo-taking skill that makes me fall in love with this photo, but the natural occurrence of people that had made this picture so artistic la…

I can’t help but put this picture into my “favourite” folder. Notice how the tree blended into the picture?? This is exactly like a piece of painting worth 10 million dollars!!

I love this picture!! I was just being bo liao waiting for the rest of my friends outside the toilet when I took this picture. And it turned out bewitching!!

Needless to say, symmetrical pictures are always beautiful, and here’s mine. Look how the calm water reflects architecture in the dim light!! Stunning!!

Here’s the picture of leaves. Who will ever notice that leaves can be so beautiful at this angle??

I had almost 20 photos of the Eiffel tower but only one turned out nice. It is hard to capture images using night mode, and I cannot use flash because the lighted Eiffel tower will suddenly disappear in the background. So this picture is considered pretty enough to made it into the list!!
Aren't you blown away by my "superb photo-taking skill"?? Which do you like best?? I am selling at 10 dollars per piece... Hahahaha!!!

Since I spend so much money on a better camera this time round, I wonder if my photos will turn out even nicer. I also wonder if Sony is kind enough to entertain me when I ask for a refund or replacement if I complain that no nice pictures are taken…
