FYP nutcase

Anxiety and nervousness overcame me as seconds ticked by… 58…59…00!! My finger raced down the mouse to click on the slot I wanted.

“The timeslot had been taken” Not again?!!

I didn’t manage to book the equipment for my project. I think my finger lacks something – speed. But the main problem was, too many students are fighting for that few pathetic slots available for one machine. Alright, I am really depressed… What if I still cannot get a slot?? How am I going to characterize my specimen?? Arghhh!!!

I am not the only one facing this problem, so I shouldn’t be too bothered by it. Anyway, lab work was fun today!! Ash really took her hats off for me because I made the stern and ill-tempered lab technician laugh and did the most unexpected.

Ash had a slot this afternoon and I was interested to see how she characterized her sample. So, I followed her to the lab after school. As I was wearing slippers, I must look for a covered shoe from somewhere, hidden under some working benches inside the lab.

We looked a lift down to basement 4 and pushed open the door. There were 3 technicians seated at the reception desk, buried in their work. I am sure I can easily get in without my bare toes being noticed, I thought. Ash started leading me, while I creep quietly behind. We passed the reception desk and turned into the preparation room. I can swear that my heart was throbbing faster as I hold my breath. Once inside, we looked under the benches frantically for those safety boots. They were all missing!!!

As I stayed put in the preparation room, Ash walked out again towards the reception desk. To her surprise, the stern technician stopped her and command that I should wear covered shoes. She began signaling me to come over, and I know I was dead.

Again, I tiptoed towards her desk and couldn’t stop but giggle. Looking down and wiggling my toes, I thought I would just be honest and told her that I was looking for covered shoes. Surprisingly, I didn’t get a trashing down!!! She looked at me with a what-the-hell look and started laughing with me. Was it so funny???

The next thing that really left me all baffled was when she offered to lend me her shoes!!! I guess wearing a smile and speaking politely to an ill-tempered person will ease the situation so much that they will go the extra mile to assist you.

Wahahaha!!!!! I end up wearing the technician’s shoe for a whole 2 hours!!! And her shoe stinks….

Lastly, the next thing I found from my cupboard isn’t fingernails… but hair….Hahaha!!! Ever wonder why I keep my hair???

In a bag...

Taking it out

How gross....
